Pakistan Security Forces Kill 12 Militants in Balochistan Operations

Islamabad: Pakistan’s military has announced that 12 militants were killed in separate security operations in the southwestern province of Balochistan, as authorities continue counterterrorism efforts in the region.

According to the military, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in the Mastung and Washuk districts after receiving information about the presence of militants in the areas.

During the operations, Pakistani forces engaged the militants, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals, the military said. Security personnel also recovered a quantity of weapons from those killed.

The latest operations come amid continued security challenges in Balochistan, where Pakistani authorities have intensified counterterrorism activities against armed groups operating in the province.

Pakistan’s security forces have for years carried out operations against militant groups active particularly in the country’s northwestern and southwestern border regions and mountainous areas.

These groups have periodically carried out attacks targeting security personnel, government facilities and civilians, prompting authorities to increase intelligence-led operations and security measures in affected regions.

The Pakistani military has reiterated its commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations aimed at eliminating militant threats and maintaining security across the country.
